BabyTime Expo in Seattle June 28-29, 2008

April kicked off the presentations at the BabyTime Expo at the Qwest Field Event Center in Seattle on Saturday, June 28. babyexpo6-08.pngShe spoke on "Making Informed Choices in Childbirth."  Other presenters included Harvey Karp (author of Happiest Baby on the Block) and Armin Brott (author of seven classic how-to books on fatherhood). Whidbey Island celebrates Midwives on May 5, 2008

Whidbey Island's library system hosted two panel discussions on midwifery care on International Midwifery Day on May 5, 2008.

Cynthia Jaffe, a licensed midwife known for her compassionate care of childbearing women on Whidbey Island, headed up and organized the panel. Both panel discussions were interactive and lively, and at times provocative as the controversial book Midwives was discussed.
